General information about Video games

A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface or input device – such as a joystick, controller, keyboard, or motion sensing device – to generate visual feedback for a player. This feedback is shown on a video display device, such as a TV set, monitor, touchscreen or virtual reality headset. Video games are often augmented with audio feedback delivered through speakers or headphones, and sometimes with other types of feedback, including haptic technology. ("Video game," 2001)

What are Video Games for me?

Video games, just like tennis has always been in my life. Since I was a kid I would see my older brother play video games on his console or on his pc. I would just sit around a see him playing, and eventually I would play as well. I would only play video games on why free time after I was done with my homework and my tennis practice, but eventually I would play them even though I was still loaded with work. They were just very distractive and they were a place for me to run from the reality and just zone out after a day full of stress. I still play video games, in less proportion, because of the work load that I have right now, but they are still a big part of my life that helps me to go through some hard times.
