Using a 3x2x2 mixed model ANOVA, it was determined that there was a significant interaction between trust and gender, F(2,232) = 17.331, p <.001. Using a post hoc comparison of a repeated measures ANOVA test, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between males and females regarding support in level one scenarios t(1,112) = -4.953, p = 1.885-5. Males supported their friends significantly more. There was not a significant difference in level two scenarios t(1,112) = 1.163, p = 1.000 and level three scenarios t(1,112) = 0.658, p = 1.000. In level two and three scenarios, female friend pairs supported each other slightly more than males, however not significantly. There was also a significant interaction between friendship trust and level of friendship, F(2,232) = 3.053, p = 0.049. Using a post hoc comparison of a repeated measures ANOVA test, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between a high level of friendship and a low level of friendship regarding support in level one scenarios, t(1,112) = -3.767, p = 0.003. Participants with high level friendships supported their friends significantly more. There was not a significant difference between a high level of friendship and a low level of friendship regarding support in level two scenarios t(1,112) = -1.911, p = 0.854, or level three scenarios t(1,112) = -0.967, p = 1.000. The three way interaction between friendship trust, level of friendship, and gender was not significantly different between males and females, F(2,119) = 2.384, p = 0.094.
